Nova Black/Pierre$140 $90
It's a fool's game the canvas sneaker market. In a crowded space how do you create something that's even worth considering when you have something like the venerable Chuck Taylor? VEJA decided to give it a go, because, of course they did.
To those of us who are well versed in the sneaker world, the toe cap on this Nova is unmistakably reminiscent of the adidas Nizza. It's likely that there's something else out there that wore this half-shell toe before them but given how much we liked that model we're happy to us it as a reference.
As with most of the styles from VEJA it's not just the design that really stands out, even though these don't exactly look like any particular shoe & possess their own unique charm of clean, almost cartoon-cell-like flatness. It's the way VEJA chooses to make their shoes where the biggest differences shine through.
Built as an entirely vegan shoe, the organic cotton uppers & wild Amazonian rubber-infused sole speak volumes to the type of direction that VEJA wants to see the footwear world move.
