CONTRA Shoots: Pink Wednesday

>  15 March 2017

"On Wednesdays, we wear pink"

Although pink is generally accepted as a feminine colour nowadays it was not always the case; in 1918 Earnshaws' Magazine advised:

"The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl"

By the 1940's though the colour would come to be used a gender identifier for baby girls.

We were at it again with the ladies for another shoot featuring some womens pieces mixed in with menswear.
